We have walls! (week 21)

We were away this week enjoying a nice break in Port Stephens. It was still nice to logon to Build watch and see the work being done.

The walls got insulated and gyprocked this week.

we have moved inside now! (week 20)

The camera has been moved from outside to the living area. The outside is about 90% done and there is a bit of scaffolding by the front door and balcony.

We still need doors, garage door and the lower bricks by the front door to be cleaned.

So far this week we have had the lower eaves done, balcony sheeting (not sure what that is), air con ducts and the electricians are busy  at the moment.

We are going to have our first supervised visit this week. Very exciting.

Some scaffolding was removed after the windows and upper downpipes got painted. Some bricks on the lower level got cleaned (except for where the scaffolding has remained).

The garage has been cleaned and cleared for the lower roof to commence.

Plans for the rest of this week is lower roof, lower eaves and balcony sheeting and frame straightening.

Brick cleaning, eaves and downpipes (week 17)

So now that the bricks are complete they are getting cleaned. Top floor bricks have been cleaned.

The top floor has started. Today the eaves got put in and some downpipes.

Finally the bricks finished (week 15 and 16)

So excited that the bricks are finally done. It is amazing how many bricks they used as there is not a lot left over.

Our balcony window is also in.

bricks continuing (week 14)

So the workers have been busy all week on the bricks and will need next week to continue.

Asked the supervisor for an update on the timeline and this is what he has advised:

We are still working away with the brickwork. I would say the guys need all of next week to complete at this stage. Possibly a little longer.

I have scheduled the job out after that including eaves installation, brick cleaning, downpipes, window cleaning, painting and scaffold removal. Ive also then scheduled in lower fascia and guttering, safety railing, roof install, lower eave, lower acid clean, lower downpipes and then the electrical wiring internally as well as air con install.

By that stage, we will be ready for the certifier to inspect the framework before we can progress onto the gyprock.

Enjoy your weekend.
